Some sessions feel like they were written into the script of a movie—and this one? This was a rainy-day rom-com meets soft, cinematic magic, set in the ever-enchanting Borderland State Park. The forecast threatened showers all week, and sure enough, the rain showed up. But instead of canceling or worrying, these two leaned all the way in. With the trees cloaked in fog and a mist that hung in the air like a scene straight out of Twilight, the whole park took on this moody, romantic glow. It was ethereal. Peaceful. A little wild. Totally perfect. From the moment they arrived, soaked with ideas and excitement, I knew we were about to create something special. They were completely in their element—barefoot in the grass, ready to run, twirl, climb, laugh. And yes, they actually climbed a tree (can confirm: it was epic). There was no fear of mud or mess, no hesitation about the weather—just a deep love for each other and a joyful willingness to be fully present in the moment. Every laugh, every raindrop, every spontaneous spin in the field—it all added up to one of the most free-spirited, love-filled sessions I’ve ever had the honor to capture.
Borderland gave us the perfect backdrop: towering trees, soft trails, open fields that begged to be danced through. It was quiet but alive, like the whole place was holding space for them and their story. This session reminded me that the best kind of love isn’t always posed or polished—it’s messy, adventurous, a little unexpected, and entirely magical.
So if you’re dreaming of a session that feels like it could be your favorite movie scene, whether it’s sunny or stormy—I’m always down for the adventure. Especially if it involves tree climbing.
